9/11 Memorial & Museum 5K Run/Walk
The Story
The 9/11 Memorial & Museum hosts an annual charitable race to honor the victims and heroes of 9/11 and raise funds to ensure future generations never forget. The 5K route follows the path first responders took to Ground Zero on 9/11. IDEKO worked with the 9/11 Memorial & Museum alongside production partner Productions New York to produce the organization’s 12th annual 5K Run/Walk in Lower Manhattan, which drew participants from across the globe.
Participants arrived at Brookfield Place to check in, pick up their race bibs and t-shirts, and enjoy pre-race snacks. The event began with an opening ceremony next to the start line, followed by the race, which ended at the finish line next to the 9/11 Memorial. Following the 5K, participants enjoyed various activities, live music, and food trucks outside the Oculus. Our team provided production, permitting, logistics, AV support, printing/signage, and advised on scheduling and labor.
