Copa America Centenario Official Draw

The Concept

On February 21, 2016, IDEKO teamed up with Major League Soccer and the Copa America Centenario Local Organizing Committee (LOC) to produce the 2016 Copa America Centenario Official Draw at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.

The Process

IDEKO managed the production including stage and live production aspects, venue, security, staffing and onsite management for this truly historic event.

The Result

The draw, which was broadcast on Univision Deportes Network and FS2 in the United States, filled out four groups and completed the full schedule of match-ups for the national tournament honoring Copa America’s 100th anniversary. The groups were respectively headed by the U.S. Men’s National Team, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. The remaining 12 teams were drawn into the four groups, setting the first-round matches for the tournament.
